National “Anti-Mosque” Movement

A lot of masjids and aspiring masjids around the country may be asking themselves this question: we have done the interfaith thing, helped the homeless, volunteered for Katrina relief, let politicians pick our pockets, put an American flag in front of the masjid, condemned our Muslim brothers for the pleasure of non-Muslims, so why oh why are people still fighting our masjid or the building of a new masjid?
A national movement is under way and the movement has been highlighted by the ”Ground Zero Mosque” controversy. The movement is being led by anti-Muslim figures and all-around bigots such as David Gaubatz ( who I exposed infiltrating Dar al Hijrah and CAIR years ago), Pam Geller, Paul Sperry, Jewish Task Force, the Christian Action Network, the Tea Party and others .
In NYC the supposed argument is it is bad adab to have such a big mosque and Muslim community center near Ground Zero. This has allowed mainstream politicians in NYC ( mostly Jewish), some liberals and national Republican figures like Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich to come out against the mosque.
However, as this has turned into a national movement it is plain to see that this is not about a mosque in NYC led by an extremely liberal and apologetic imam; but rather this is a movement led by White Nationalists and Zionists to stop Islam in America.
Gaubatz and others have already stated in the past it is their goal to outlaw Islam and the conversion to Islam in this country. So, today you see protests all over the country like this one in Tennessee; (video removed)
and a further rally in Cali where kafirs brought dogs outside the masjid.
This is being fueled by the surge in White Nationalism with the Tea Party and Zionists. Gaubatz, Geller, Robert Spencer and other bigots have become darlings of the White Nationalist crowd.
The anti-mosque movement cannot be separated from the anti-immigrant movement which disguises anti-Latino feelings or the anti-Obama movement which disguises hatred for blacks. The Tea Party and the affiliated groups are almost all white and tend to be older. They are angry that the grip of White Supremacy is slipping and as Sarah Palin said ” we want our country back”.
The naiveté and foolishness of many Muslims was the fact that they believed if you would just be apologetic enough and kiss enough butt you could get everyone to love you; but when in the history of the ummah did this ever happen? Not even the greatest of creation Nabee Muhammad ( peace and blessings be upon him) was loved by all and in fact many tried to kill him ( PBUH). Muslims have always had enemies and the forces of Shaytan have been there for 1400 years fighting the spread of Islam.
A question I posed on my facebook was this; why do naive Muslims ( almost always immigrants) choose to open mosques in racist white communities where they can be assured of getting opposition from angry rednecks ( often instigated by Pro-Israel forces)? As Izzy Mo said ” why are they suprsied when rednecks act redneck?” How many such protests have you seen of inner-city masjids in ”the hood”? So why not go where we are welcomed and not beg to be accepted by people who will always hate us?
Open a masjid in the hood and most locals will welcome it and the Tea Party types are scared to come to the Hood anyway so you don’t have to worry about them; but open it in white suburbia and you could get protesters with dogs at the gates. So, how bad do you wanna be down with racist whites and how much crap are you willing to take before you stop licking boots and get the picture?
Those non-Muslims with good hearts you do not have to beg and kiss up to and compromise your deen for. They will naturally, after seeing what is just, come to support the Muslims out of a sense of decency and common values.
I find the above quite telling in that it implicitly states that you have not condemned your Muslim brothers because you disagreed with what they have done or said, but rather only to pacify the westerners and to present a version of Islam that isn’t offensive to our sensibilities and fundamental values. You call people bigots for opposing the creation of a multi-million dollar mosque next to Ground Zero yet in the Muslim world, Christians are obstructed from building churches and fixing ones that are falling apart and never will you hear a group of Muslims complain about this. The difference here is that you will find Christians and Jews and other westerners coming in to support the building of this mosque because as they read the law of America, everyone has a right to practice their religion yet you will not find such examples on the part of Muslims in predominantly Muslim countries. These areas of the world are rife with intolerance yet Muslims will not condemn this injustice. Therefore, do not sit there and pontificate on the matter while the majority of the Muslim world is in fact quite happy with the practice of severely limiting (to the point that they are virtually non-existent) the rights of other religious groups. As such to complain about this being done when it is towards Muslims, is rather hypocritical and disgusting.

What reductionist nonsense. The Islamic world has a long history of tolerance for minorities which is unmatched and boasts more Churches then Europe and America combined. Simple facts I don’t expect knuckle dragging, Walmart clothes buying, Fox News watching, assault rifle shooting brainiacs to know or be interested in. Here’s another interesting factoid, Bethlehem remained a Christian majority throughout centuries of Muslim rule, yet in just a few decades of “israeli” occupation that is no longer the case. But who gives a damn about Palestinian Christians anyway, right?

perhaps a more interesting factoid is that those churches were mostly constructed before the rise of islam and/or muslim dominance. please be more careful in your research. that said, you call me a hypocrite yet can you honestly tell me that the west is more tolerant of islam than islam of any other religion? the very fact that you would call me a liar proves that you have not educated yourself nearly enough.

Speak the Truth!!!
I’ve been thinking the same thing these past few weeks. It’s so disgusting to see how many Muslims act. They act like scared children. It has been said,not sure if true, in India over 500 masajid have been destroyed since 2002. A decade ago in Algeria “practicing” Muslims were fired from all government jobs. What’s happening in the US is nothing compared to what happened in Andalusia so why are so many muslim man behaving like scared little boys?
Has one masjid been destroyed in the US?
Has one person been murdered just for being a Muslim?
Has any person been fired from they job for being a Muslim?
What is there to be scared about? Many the US muslims especially immigrants need to develop some backbone!! Let those naysayers piss,moan and scream. In the end they won’t do nothing.

Nothing wrong with doing those – those should be done not just because it’s the smart thing to do, but it’s the right thing to do.
Muslims should write to the Mayor of NYC for his eloquent defense of the mosque.
But why should we “write to the mayor”? This kinda bothers me too. Why should we right and thank someone for doing what they’re supposed to do anyway? All the mayor is doing is standing up for what is right which is what he’s supposed to do. Just as why should we seek approval from people like the Tea Party, etc., who aren’t going to give it? I’m not saying don’t write the mayor, I just don’t think a group that claims to advocate and represent us as Muslims should be encouraging us to do it, kinda like “oh if we just write and thank the mayor he’ll see how nice we Muslims are”, it makes me feel like I’m being asked to grovel and I don’t like groveling.

Because there are positions within the madhabs about establishing a congregation where you live, the need for a central mosque, the need for a ground-up mosque and so forth. So these “native Muslims” are just trying to follow the sunnah as best they can according to their understanding rather than doing what is easy.

To illustrate, when was the last time you publicly supported the building of more synagogues and churches in the Muslim world? From the comments above it is clear to see that I have come in support of the right for Muslims to build their places of worship.
